I am contemplating between apollo 4g life and yokohama earth 1 for my honda city zx. Which one would you suggest and why?

Hi Vibhor,

Go for Yokohama Earth-1 as it offer better traction, handling and durability. The only advantage Apollo Amazer 4G life has that it offers longer tyre life, but at the cost of less grip and comfort.

Go for Apollo if your major concern is tyre life.

Please suggest me the best fitted tyre for my car while I have a avg. monthly drive of 1200-1500 KMs in which 60% is in hilly area and rest in flat. Regards Ashish

Hi Ashish,

You can go for MRF ZV2K. It offers good grip and long tyre life. You can also look at Yokohama Earth-1 tyre. It offers good performance, durability and handling. Apollo Alnac is also a good tyre that you can look at.

In case you are looking at tyres that offer better fuel efficiency then go for Ceat Fuel Smarrt or Bridgestone Ecopia EP150. Ecopia would be our recommendation here.

Which is the best brand in tyres for city commute? and for occasional off-roading? I drive Tata Indigo Manza which has quite low ground clearance with 185/60 R15. Can I replace it with bigger/wider tyres? Will it improve ground clearance? Will it affect my ride? What are the trade-offs?

Hi Kiran,

Upsizing will not improve the ground clearance. This is because an increase in tyre width is accompanied by a strategic decrease in side profile height in order to maintain centre of gravity and diameter difference.

If you want better ride height then try using spacers in the shockers.

SInce you want tyres that are good for on as well as off-road, I'd say you go for Yokohama Earth-1 tyres. They are quite durable and offer good grip and comfort. Another option would be Bridgestone Turanza AR20.

Which is the best Tyre for Maruthi Eritiga 185/65 R15 Tube less

Hi Sudeep,

Goodyear Assurance Triplemax would be a good tyre to begin with. If you can stretch the budget then go for Yokohama Earth-1.

And if you want something top of the line then go for Bridgestone Turanza AR20.

Goodyear is the least expensive of the lot, Bridgestone is the most and Yokohama fits somewhere in between. Same is the order to quality--Turanza AR20 being the best, followed by Yokohama and then Goodyear.

I HV beat LT petrol. I want to change its tyre. What is the best tyre size (if I can upgrade it? And best tyre brand for beat. Thanks. Dheeraj

Hi Dheeraj,

The stock tyre size for Beat Petrol LT is 155/70 R14. If you want to upsize it then go for 165/70 R14. MRF ZLX would be a good tyre to begin with. In case you want something better then you could look at Bridgestone B250 or Bridgestone Turanza AR20 ( our recommendation being Turanza if it fits your budget).

You could also look at buying Yokohama Earth-1 tyre. It is better than Bridgestone B250, although not as good as Turanza.
