Hi I am looking for a tyre change in my Skoda octavia elegance 2.0 TDI AT 2013 model. 205/55 R16 ran 50000 km. Is it the right time to change? Can I go for higher profile? Which are the best tyres for my car?

Hi Ritesh,

Yes, you must change the tyres now for optimum safety and performance.

You can upsize to 215/55 R16.

Yokohama A.Drive would be a good tyre for your Octavia to start with. It offers good performance and handling. A better tyre would be Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. It offers great performance, comfort and handling.

In case you want a tyre which offers great comfort and long tyre life along with great grip then go for Michelin Primacy 3ST.

Apollo Alnac 4GS would be a good tyre to begin with. If offer good comfort and traction. Another tyre which offers good value for money would be Hankook Optimo K415. It offers superior wet and dry grip and superior comfort.

If budget is not a constraint then go for Michelin Energy XM2 or Continental Conti Max Contact MC5.

Sir, I am staying at Sikkim and road condition is very bad, hilly terrine. If i buy tyres from Siliguri and replace at my place whether warranty will be valid and my vehicle tyre requirement is 175/70 R13, you suggest me the company for which i go for purchase. Thanx Tanmay

Hi Tanmay,

Yes the tyre warranty would hold good for as long as you are buying from an authorized dealer and get proper invoice and warranty card for the same. Considering your requirements, I'd suggest tyres that have better grip and handling and are also durable.

You can start with MRF ZSLK. These are pretty decent tyres. In case you want something better then go for Hankook Optimo K715 tyre.

However, if budget is not a constraint then go for Bridgestone Turanza AR20. It is the best out of all tyres mentioned here.
