Sir, which tyre we can choose for alto k10 for best griping and no maintance

Hi Ajay,

Choose out of MRF ZVTS or Apollo Amazer 4G Life. They both are reliable products and would offer confident grip.  If you want a tyre that would offer more comfort and a well-cushioned ride quality then go for MRF ZLX.

If you want something top of the line then go for Bridgestone Turanza ER60. It would offer excellet grip, superb handling and great ride comfort.

While all these tyres are very reliable, I'd like to clear that all tyres deserve some basic maintenance ( proper Air pressure, timely wheel balancing and alignment) to ensure they perform their best and keep you safe on roads.

Hello Eric,

If you want to increase ground clearance of your vehicle then let me tell you that upsizing tyres will not solve that issue. A better and cost-effective solution would be to go for after-market spacers. These would cost you around Rs500/- approx. for a pair and will improve the ground clearance.

If you still want to upsize the tyres, then the stock-size on Alto K10 is 155/65 R13 . Valid upsizes would be 165/65 R13 and 175/60 R13. You can go for any of the sizes, but I would personally recommend 165/65 R13 as it will offer better road grip and not hamper the handling .

Hi, I have a Alto K10 2013 model and now is up for a tyre change. I think this model came with a tube but the new Alto K10 has tubeless tyre. What type and which size of tyre would you recommend? Thank you.

Hello Raju,

I would recommend that you go for tubeless tyres, as they offer better handling and in case of punctures do not require immediate repairing.

If you want tyres that are top of the line in terms of performance, comfort and life, then go for Bridgestone Turanza AR20 or Michelin Energy XM2 tyres. These tyres are the best in terms of grip , comfort and ride quality.

Michelin offers better ride quality than Bridgestone. So, if ride comfort is your priority then go for Michelin Energy XM2.

In case you are looking at economical options then go for MRF ZV2K. But a tyre that finds its place in between these two categories is Bridgestone B290. It is priced slightly above MRF ZV2K but delivers superior performance and a comfortable life . It offers good value for money.

Which Tyre should I choose for my Alto k10, and how to ensure their life

Hello Manchal,

The simplest way to maintain the tyres is to keep them properly inflated at all times. Under or over inflated tyres wear out relatively quickly and do not offer good performance.

Also, it is in your best interest to ensure the tyres are properly aligned and that the wheels are properly balanced. These ensure maximum tread life.

Make it a point to rotate tyres after every 5,000 kms. This ensures that all tyres wear uniformly so that you can  extract maximum tread life from every tyre. Tyredekho recommends 5 tyre rotation pattern, wherein the spare tyre is also be actively used.
