I have a swift zdi with 185/65 R15 tyre I want change my tyre

Hi Sam,

If you want tyres that offer decent performance but have longer tread life, then MRF ZV2K would be a good option. The downside is that these tyres are a bit noisy, especially at high speeds.

In case you want something better, then Yokohama Earth-1 would be a very good option. Not only are these tyres reasonably priced, but they also offer great traction, comfort and handling. Even the tread life is quite good.

However, if you want something top of the line, then go for Michelin Energy XM2 or Bridgestone Turanza AR20.

Both these tyres offer superior traction, excellent handling and a very comfortable ride quality. While Bridgestone is more durable on rough roads, Michelin tyres offer better ride comfort and enhanced tyre life.

Hello Shiva,

You should go for 195/65 R 15 if you want to upsize. And in thois size, you can go for Bridgestone Ecopia EP150. It is a fuel efficient tyre from Bridgestone and the company claims that it can improive fuel efficiency of a vehile by up tp 7-10%.

The traction, handling and ride comfort offered by this tyre is also very good and so is the tread life.

If you want tyres that offer even better grip and handling then go for Bridgestone Turanza AR20. It is will offer an extremely comfortable ride quality with better grip and performance.

I have install Falken Sincera Sn835 195/60r15 tyre in my swift dzire ,now my question is that whether my tire will touch the back body when full load has given in it ..plz give a satisfy answer

Hello Kekhar Kesh Das,

I do not think the tyres would touch the wheel arches under normal conditions, but if driven at a high speed over a bump or speed breaker then it may touch.

So, drive carefully and perhaps the tyres will never touch the wheel arches. But, let me remind you that the 195/60 R15 is actually a low profile size whereas the correct upsize would be 195/65 R15.

Low profile tyres, while offer good road grip, may suffer damages easily ove rough surfaces due to reduced sidewall height.

Hello Amrit,

Considering your requirements, I think it will be good if you go for Bridgestone Turanza AR20 or Michelin Energy XM2 tyres.

Both these tyres offer excellent wet and dry grip with superior handling and tread life. While both offer a very comfortable ride quality, Michelin's are a bit better in terms of comfort and noise.

Sir I purchased a swift vxi at 2011 and ride it about 21000 km now machenic advised me to change all tyre should I change tyre

Hello Radheyshyam Joshi,

Tyres usually have a shelf life of 5 years, after which, they lose their gripping efficiency and become very hard. Considering that your vehicle is 2011 make, I think it will be better if you replace all 4 tyres for optimum safety.

Hi, I am planning to upgrade my swift dzire vxi tyres to 185/70 R14 from 165/75 R14, What is your opinion on this.

Hello Sharad,

The stock tyre size of Swift Dzire is 165/60 R14 and not 165/70 R14. So, as of now, you are using a downsized and low-profile tyre. Downsizing is actually not allowed legally and might give you troubles at the time of claiming insurance.

Now that you want to go for an upsize, you can choose out of following sizes.

  • 235/60 R14
  • 215/65 R14
  • 195/70 R14
  • 175/80 R14

The thing about upsize is that it wider tyres offer better road grip, more effective braking and vehicular stability. But with increasing tyre width, the tyre weight also increases. This may to lead to a heavier steering or slightly decreased fuel efficiency.

Want to buy a set of 4 tyres for Maruti Swift Dzire VDI.Mostly used in Rural area.

Hello Anil,

Since the usage would be in rural areas, I would suggest that you go for Goodyear Assurance Duraplus tyres. These tyres come with DuPont Kevlar technology, which makes these tyres very durable against cuts and abrasions. Their traction level is also quite good, and the comfort level is decent.

You may also look at MRF ZV2K. These tyres are also very durable and offer good performance and comfort.

If tyre durability is your priority then go for Goodyear Assurance Duraplus, but for over-all better performance, MRF ZV2K would be a better option.

Also, you might consider using tyre sealant in new tyres. This is a cost effective solution that protects tyres from punctures. These are pretty easy to find in the market, are very reasonably priced and very effective.
