Bridgestone Dueler is a very good tyre for the Scorpio, hence there is no harm in repeating them. However, some other highly regarded premium tyre patterns for Scorpio include Continental Conti Cross Contact LX2, Michelin LTX Force and Pirelli Scorpion ATR.

Michelin LTX Force AT is not available in an 18-inch size in India. And as you have fitted Michelin Primacy SUV HT tyre, the only drawback with these tyres in a Thar is it will not be able to handle off-road conditions well, as they are meant for smooth high-speed highway drives. However, mild off-roading will do, but not hardcore ones. Originally Thar is equipped with 255/65 R18, and downsizing may take away its adventurous capability to some extent. Therefore, you can either look for Pirelli Scorpion ATR 255/70 R18 or Apollo Apterra AT2 265/60 R18. There is a bit of size deviation in the aforementioned tyre sizes, as the original recommended size is not available with Pirelli and Apollo in their respective AT range. By any chance, if you do not get any of the two, then switching to CEAT Czar AT 255/65 R18, the OE tyre for Mahindra Thar will be the best option to save your day.

Yes, you can go for an upsize to 245/70 R16. The recommended tyre for the upsiszing is Pirelli SCORPION ATR. The tyres are ideal for off-roading as well for highway drives.
