While Santro gave a solid debut to Hyundai in India, the Korean carmaker’s presence in the small car segment was strengthened by the slightly more premium i10. The Hyundai i10 first came in 2007 and remained on sale till 2015, when it eventually got replaced by the Grand i10. For the Hyundai i10 tyre size of 155/80 R13, affordable tubeless radial tyre options are starting from as low as Rs 1,900 from brands like Aeolus and Nexen. You can get more durable and slightly premium tyres from brands like MRF, CEAT, Apollo and CEAT within the range of Rs 2500 to Rs 3500. However, the most premium set of tyres come from premium brands like Michelin and Pirelli, with their tyre options going up to Rs 4500. There are various factors like load index, speed ratings, brand and material used in composition, which determine the prices of tyres.

Before running out of production, the Hyundai i10 came with multiple variants – D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta – across the two engine options it was offered in. All these variants came standard with 155/80 R13 tyres.

Hyundai i10 Specifications and Features

The Hyundai i10 debuted in India with the same 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine from the Santro Xing. This engine used to produce 69 PS of maximum power and 101 Nm of maximum torque and was mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Later on, a new 1.2-litre four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine joined the lineup, which claimed 80 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, and it also came with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

For its time, the Hyundai i10 was easily the most desirable and well-equipped entry-level hatchback. It offered a host of features like fog lamps, an integrated music system with USB and Aux-in and steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, which were premium for an entry-level car in those times. Initially, the top-spec Asta variant was also offered with a factory-fitted sunroof, which was a big thing for a car of its price.
