I am planning to change the tyres of my old Santro Xing ... At present, it is having normal tube tyres... What dealer recommended was i could use thetubeless tyres using the same rim ...they are more safe and cheaper ...\\n\\nSecondly i could use the tube and the tubeless tyre it won\\\'t be an issue ...if i want to use tube with it ...\\n\\nIs his recommendation correctly ...\\n\\nWhat you suggest which one i go for without hurting my pocket and gives me best value for money .. I don\\\'t drive much ..

Hi Naresh,

Since your last name and question is same as that of Ms Seema Luthra, I am assuming you guys are related and hence would say the same that that I said to her.

You can very well go for tubeless tyres. In fact, they are more convenient, as they do not lose air pressure instantly on getting punctured and allow you to drive your car for some time so that you could reach nearest repair shop. Tubeless tyres are also light in weight and hence make the steering feel a bit lighter.

Avoid using tube in a tubeless tyre. This defeats the entire purpose of using tubeless tyres.

Lastly, even if you don't drive much, you must not compromise on the quality of the tyres as they form the first line of defence in your car.

I would suggest that you go for Bridgestone Firestone FR500 tyre for your Santro. It is an excellent tyre; offers superior wey and dry grip, is quite durable over rough tarmac and offers long tread life along with good ride comfort.

In case you want something economical then go for MRF ZSLK. These are silica based tyres and offer good wet and dry grip with long tread life.

Regards
