Apollo Tyres has introduced Manchester United co-branded tyre in the Indian market. The newly-launched tyre is a special version of the Alnac 4G high-performance tyre. The new tyre, which has been launched to mark the partnership between the two, is targeted at the football lovers in India, especially the Manchester United fans.
The newly-unveiled edition of the Apollo Alnac 4G tyres will only come in 15-inch wheel size and sport logos of both the tyre maker and the football club on its sidewall. India is the third country in in the world where this special edition tyre has been launched after the United Kingdom and Thailand. Apollo has already started selling this product at select company dealerships across the country.
In 2013, Apollo Tyres signed a three-year regional partnership with Manchester United Football Club. The Indian tyre manufacturing company is the official tyre partner for Manchester United in UK and India. According to the tyre maker, the partnership has been really helpful for the company to build its brand name and also to increase its product portfolio. The dual-branded tyres can be easily fitted to some of the popular premium sedans such as Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, among others.
Satish Sharma, Apollo Tyres President (Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa), said,”It is a high-performance product. It generally fits Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic kind of vehicles. It is a very popular size globally.” Commenting on association with Manchester United, Sharma said, “The partnership has helped the tyre maker greatly in terms of brand-building.”
Furthermore, Apollo has joined hands with Manchester United Football Cub and Youth Football International (YFI) to launch a scholarship program in a bid to encourage the young and talented soccer players in India.
