The innovative technology can work in synch with cars and bikes increasing fuel efficiency and tyre life.
India’s leading tyre manufacturer JK Tyre has launched ‘Smart Tyre’ at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020 in Greater Noida. It’s claimed to be a never before seen product in the Indian tyre arena. The smart tyre technology is basically a cloud-based monitoring system that works through Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and company’s indigenous TREEL Care app.
Compatible with two-wheelers and four-wheelers, the Smart Tyre technology is offered in three variations. For cars, trucks, and buses there is Smart Tyre Sensor Car Kit: Valve, MTrac Smart Sensor Car & Truck Kit: Valve and MPower Smart Sensor Car Kit: Valve. Moreover, for motorcycles, it is launched in two variants i.e. Smart Tyre Sensor Bike Kit: Belt and MTrac Smart Sensor Bike Kit: Belt.
On the launch occasion, Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & MD, JK Tyre said, “JK Tyre has always been at the forefront of innovation and technology. Being the market leaders in the Indian tyre industry, we have once again lived up to our leadership role by delivering ‘Smart Tyre’ – an extension to our promise of providing advanced mobility solutions to our customers. This technology provides an enhanced value proposition to vehicle owners, particularly fleets, by reducing their operational costs.”
Tyre fitness is assessed by the diagnostic sensors slotted in with the TPMS, while the tyre’s health report and its data is retrieved and displayed on the smartphone through JK Tyre’s indigenous designed TREEL Care app, available free of cost for Android and iOS supporting phones. The tyre data can also be retrieved via company’s web page. With continuous monitoring of the tyre, it can lead to a 4-5% increase in fuel mileage and improved tyre tread life.
In addition to this, JK Tyre also displayed a new range of concept tyres at the 2020 Auto Expo. Moreover, the company representatives also promised to launch some more breakthrough products in forthcoming months this year.
