Bridgestone Shuffles India Operations

The move is a part of a new sustainable strategy, and to boost its presence in the Indian market.
Bridgestone, the Japanese tyre brand and the world’s largest producer of tyres has recently announced to rejig its organizational structure in India. The new Chief Commercial Officer will be Rajarshi Moitra, while Sunil Puri will lead the Sustainability department. The changes are made to provide a boost to sustainability, which will be in sync with the company’s global strategy on the same.
Talking about the role, the firm said that Rajarshi Moitra played a critical role in transforming the consumer business and will be perfect to lead as Bridgestone India’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), steering the end-to-end relations with the consumer, commercial and solutions businesses. The company also stated that all three segments will continue to operate under his direction and as an independent business.
Boosting market presence and reinforcing sustainable business
The new CCO will also shoulder the duty of supply chain management and all the logistics related to post-production. And along with ensuring collaborations between the product offerings, the new restructuring will also integrate and strengthen the company’s market presence across different tyre segments.
The statement from the company further added that as a Head of Sustainability, Sunil Puri will navigate through functions and introduce fresh avenues, as well as, green initiatives in the areas of raw material, new products, re-treading and end-of-life of the tyres. The new appointment is a significant approach towards reinforcing sustainable business, which will now be headed by an individual with vast experience in the tyre business.
Bridgestone To Supply Tyres For The Audi Q4 e-tron
Parag Satpute, Managing Director, Bridgestone India said on the development that the structural rejig is targeted towards consolidating and strengthening the brand’s corporate position in India. The working of different business units under a single umbrella will deliver great results in penetrating deep in the tyre market together, with the optimization of the resources.
Satpute also added that globally, the Japanese tyre brand is committed to sustainability, and the creation of a devoted resource for the same will enhance the commitment in reducing, reprocessing and recycling across its operations.
In the concluding statement, Bridgestone India said that these structural changes will enable it to further expand its presence, and help evolve the business and drive it to the next level in the Indian market.
