Bridgestone to supply tyres for 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV

Bridgestone Tyres hasĀ been selected by Daimler as the tyre supplier for the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV that will be launching worldwide this year. The mid-sized luxury SUV will come fitted with Dueler H/P Sport tyres in four different sizes across the model range.
Tyre manufacturers are always looking to get Original Equipment contract with car makers because it is beneficial for their brand image and also result in consistent sales. The OE Ā supplier contract signals an initiation of long-term supply of tyres to the customers who have purchased the car because they are most likely to replace the worn-out tyres with the OEM-supplied tyre model.
When tyre manufacturer and vehicle manufacturer get into a contract for OE supply, they often work together to develop the tyre and vehicle so that their qualities complement each other. Factors like safety, braking, handling, road noise, tyre load rating and comfort are taken into consideration.
Previous to this fitment, Bridgestone had also enjoyed collaborating with Daimler for fitment of Dueler H/P Sport tyre for the Mercedes-Benz GLA compact SUV while the Mercedes C-Class was factory-fitted with Bridgestone Turanza T001 Touring tyres, Bridgestone Potenza S001 Sport tyres and Bridge Blizzak winter tyres.
For the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC, the Japanese tyre maker will be supplying four different tyre size- 235/65R17, 235/60R18, 255/55R19 and 255/45R20. Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport tyres have been specially-developed to provide responsive handling, comfort and safety in the latest generation SUVs.
