To say that Continental, one of the official sponsors of UEFA Euro 2016 tournament, will position its brand close to European football's most important event is just scratching the surface. This year, Continental will equip the buses ferrying teams to the ten venues in France (host country) with its premium bus tyres. Continental is not new to this branding trick as it has used this trick during the FIFA World Cup 2014 which was held in Brazil. The tyre maker had put its ContiGolUrbino tyre to use at that time.

Continental will use the specially-designed tyres ContiGoal HA3 on not just team buses but also on 20 VIP buses that has been provided by select transport companies. In addition to this, Continental will put to use an exclusive, special-edition tyre for the tournament, based on its ContiCityPlus HA3 tyre, for regional transport. Continental developed the ContiGoal HA3 in Germany and the tyre can be fitted to any axle.

The ContiGoal HA3 sports well-defined longitudinal grooves that help in achieving optimum handling and wet performance and, combined with deep 3D sipes, the tyre offers extra grip and consistent, reliable braking throughout its life. Together with the special rubber tread compound, the closed side flanks ensure high levels of comfort and low noise characteristics. The stronger side wall reduces tyre flexing and help achieve increased fuel efficiency.

Throughout Euro 2016, from the opening match on June 10 to the final on July 10 in Paris, tyre servicing and maintenance on all 44 buses fitted with ContiGoal HA3 in size 295/80 R 22.5 will be handled by Continental’s FleetPartner network. Continental states that FleetPartner is the biggest provider of tyres and services for car and truck fleets in Europe and is a part of the Continental 360°FleetServices network.
