CEAT Tyres has announced that it has extended warranty on all tyres by three months to support the customers in the wake of coronavirus – led nationwide lockdown.
The decision to extend the warranty on tyres has been taken to express solidarity with customers amidst the continued lockdown, the tyre maker said in a statement.
The warranty extension by three months applies to all tyres expiring between 1 March and 31 May 2020. Warranty extension will be considered from manufacturing week/year code, for an additional three months.
Speaking on the occasion, Arnab Banerjee, Chief Operating Officer, CEAT Tyres, said, “We have taken the decision keeping the safety of our customers in mind. While we all are following the government’s directive of social distancing, we want to ensure that our customers continue to get the benefit of the warranty during these trying times.”

In India, presently there have been a total of 67, 325 cases which has resulted in over 2,000 deaths. Maharashtra has been the worst affected Indian state with over 20,000 cases. Other states faring poorly in India are Gujarat and Delhi, with both having over 6,000 cases.
Most vehicle manufacturers have also extended their service and warranty period support their customers during the lockdown. Companies are also focusing more on digital platform that offers doorstep delivery and service so that existing owners and potential customers will not have to leave the safety of their homes.
