Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany has appointed Juergen Titz as its new Group Managing Director for the company’s DACH (German, Austria and Switzerland) operations. On June 1, 2015, Titz formally succeeded George Rietbergen, who held the post since August 1, 2013, and has started working in his new role.
Prior to his appointment as the Group Managing Director, Titz has served as UK and Ireland Director of Consumer Replacement Tyres at Goodyear Dunlop between 2009 and 2013. Titz has been associated with the Goodyear Dunlop group for the last 17 years and worked in various roles within the company. In fact, earlier in January 2015, he took over the reigns of Consumer Replacement Tyre business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from his brother Frank Titz.
"In his new role, he will be part of the EMEA region leadership team and thus contribute to our region's success. We are certain that Jurgen Titz will carry further the smooth continuity of our business relationship," commented Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe President Darren Wells.
The change of guard at Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany has come at a very critical point in time since the company is engaged in negotiation with employee representatives on plans to cancel the contract it currently holds with 7,500 employees in Germany. Goodyear Dunlop Germany is expected to make a strategic decision on the situation and Juergen Titz’s insights will of course matter a lot in this case.
