Tyre manufacturer Goodyear is exhibiting at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo. There are some interesting products on display that show the company's commitment towards innovation and improving tyre technology.
At the company's booth, there is a Challenging the Limits display that includes two concept tyres unveiled for the first time in India. As per the company, this concept could radically transform the role of car tyres in the future. Even though these tyres are still a concept, they are the result of imagination that provides a peek at practical innovations.
One of the concept is BH03 that offers the possibility of charging batteries of electric devices by utilising the heat generated by rolling of tyres to generate electricity. Another concept is called the Triple Tube. It houses three tubes that adjusts the tyre air pressure in response to the changing road conditions. This technology can offer new levels of performance and versatility.
Some other interesting products showcases were tyres used in aviation industry, NASCAR and run-flat tyres. Moreover, some tyres like Goodyear Assurance TripleMax and Wrangler ATSA were also on display.
“Our products displayed at the Expo represent an essential aspect of Goodyear’s consumer-centric innovation strategy, which constantly instills a forward-looking, market-back mindset in the company’s research and development teams,” said Mike Rytokoski, Goodyear’s vice president for consumer tyres in Asia Pacific.
He added, “Our concept tyres re-imagine the role that tyres may play in the future. We envision a future in which our products become more integrated with the vehicle and the consumer, more environmentally friendly and more versatile.”
