Electric is the future of mobility, and Audi, just like other major automakers in the market, has already started its journey with the launch of its e-tron all-electric SUV in 2021. Based on the MEB platform, the SUV has been steadily making a mark in the segment, with a new version due in 2023.
In terms of styling, the Audi e-tron gets a design of a traditional SUV, which goes in line with the German automaker’s latest design language. And this means you will get to see a huge grille with sleek matrix LED headlamps and LED DRLs. In profile, the car looks well-proportioned without deviating much from the conventional profile of an Audi SUV, similar to the likes of Q5 and Q7.
Though the Sportback model comes with a similar styling from the front, when looked from the side, the SUV-coupe design becomes more obvious, with a tapered roofline ending in a notchback shape. The 5-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels lift the dynamic appeal on the road. At the back, all the variants get a wide light bar connecting the LED taillights.
Inside, the quality remains of a typical Audi with premium upholstery and plenty of comfort and entertainment aspects. The e-tron gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and an additional 8.8-inch display for controlling climate. The MMI infotainment is powered by Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with 705W Bang and Olufsen premium sound system.
Other creature comforts inside include 4-zone climate control, digital driver’s display aka virtual cockpit, connected car tech, powered tailgate, power-adjustable steering, panoramic sunroof, power front seats, and flat-bottom steering wheel, among others. Safety is ensured by eight airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, a tyre pressure monitoring system, adaptive air suspension and a 360-degree camera.
The Audi e-tron comes with a dual-motor setup, offering two different outputs, that power all four wheels. The base variant 50 is available with a 71.2kWh battery pack that produces 312PS and 540Nm torque. The 55 variant, on the other hand, gets its power from the 95kWh battery, generating 360PS and 561Nm torque, and 408PS and 664Nm torque in the Boost mode.
