Hero no longer remains only the mass-market commuting motorcycle producer. Time and again, it has proved that it has products for every class of riders. The idea behind introducing the Xtreme series of motorcycles was to offer bikes that gets the pulse racing without being heavy on the pockets. In short, motorcycles in this segment are for those who are performance-oriented and frugal. The Xtreme series starts with the entry-level 160r and goes up to the 200s.
Talking about the Xtreme 160r, the bike is a blend of aggression, power & control and features. The muscular streetfighter stance can be seen in droid LED headlamps, sleek and segment-first LED winkers, first-in-class integrated pillion grab, LED tail lamps and compact sporty exhaust. The bike comes with an LCD console that gives detailed information, including gear position indicator, speedometer, tachometer, side stand engine cut-off, etc. The 160r is also equipped with unique features such as hazard lights, auto sail technology and a USB charging slot.
On the other hand, the Xtreme 200s is a stylish, magnificent and tech-loaded sports bike that gets heart racing and turn the head wherever it goes. With aerodynamic sports fairing, the bike features twin-LED headlamps surrounded by black plastic trim, a flat handlebar, LED tail lamps and sporty exhaust. The bike comes with an all-digital instrument panel giving visuals of Call Alerts, a Digital Tachometer and a Digital Gear Indicator. The console also supports Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
In terms of power, the 160r gets a 160cc air-cooled, 4-stroke 2 valve single-cylinder motor that produces 15.2PS and 14Nm torque, while the 200s packs a 200cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke oil-cooled engine that pumps out 18.4PS and 17.1Nm torque. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.
In terms of suspension, both the bikes get telescopic with an anti-friction bush at the front. The rear suspension is different as 160r gets 7 step rider-adjustable mono-shock, the 200s get a rectangular swingarm with a mono-shock. The 200s gets disc brakes as standard, while the same is available on all the variants of 160r except the base trim. Both the bikes sport a single-channel Anti-lock braking system.

The Xtreme 160r is available in Pearl Silver White, Vibrant Blue, Sports Red and unique 100 Million LTD Edition and Matte Black colour options. The 200s get Sports Red, Pearl Silver White and Panther Black body paints.
