Honda began its journey in the hot B-segment hatchback way back in 2011 with the launch of Brio. The idea behind introducing Brio was to give a premium offering against popular Swift and Hyundai i20. And in no time, Honda Brio managed to win hearts with its stylish design, cutting edge interiors and all-around performance. The hatchback took a long five years to come with an updated avatar with a slew of cosmetic and interior enhancements. The car was discontinued in 2019 after a long run.

On the outside, the latest Honda Brio gets a fresh grille and other details that go in line with the Amaze compact sedan but come with a glossy black finishing. The hatchback features revamped bumpers, large headlamps and updated tail lamps, while the side profile remains intact with the same bold character lines and aerodynamic alloy wheels. The revised spoiler with LED lights gives a sense of richness.

The majority of changes are done inside where the Japanese carmaker has omitted the ancient and unusual dashboard design and given a new wood finished panel similar to the sibling Amaze. Other significant updates in the cabin include a revised instrument cluster, revamped upholstery, digital air-con controls, and beige and all-black interiors in the lower and top-end trims respectively. 

In terms of entertainment and comfort, the Honda Brio featured an updated audio unit with Bluetooth connectivity, seat height adjusters, steering mounted audio controls and electrically adjustable ORVMs. In the safety department, the Brio is equipped with dual front airbags, an Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), seatbelt pre-tensioners, rear windshield defogger and impact mitigating headrests.

Under the hood, the Brio gets power from the 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine that generates 88PS and 109Nm of torque, coupled to either 5-speed MT or 5-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The fuel efficiency figures are average for a city car with the manual and automatic models delivering around 18kmpl and 16kmpl respectively.

The hatchback was available in three trim levels E, S and VX with six graceful colour options, including Rallye Red, Modern Steel Metallic, Alabaster Silver, Urban Titanium, Taffeta White and Energetic Blue.
