The Unicorn has been a decently successful model for Honda in the entry-level 150cc motorcycle. The 150-200cc segment has seen a massive change since then, with all the motorcycles trying to up their game in terms of design and performance. Honda tried to make a mark with several motorcycles like CB Dazzler, CB Trigger and CB Hornet 160R; However, none of these motorcycles managed to give competition to the more popular offerings in this space. It is then Honda decided to up its game and introduce the Honda Hornet 2.0.
The Honda Hornet 2.0 has replaced the old CB Hornet 160R, with a snazzier look, more premium components and features and a bigger 184.4cc engine. The motorcycle neatly fits in the segment of premium 150-160cc motorcycles dominated by premium players like Yamaha FZ-S, Suzuki Gixxer 150 and Hero Xtreme 160R and the entry-level 200cc motorcycle space having bikes like Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. It gives the Honda Hornet 2.0 the advantage of having the best of both worlds, with ease of riding nature of a premium 150cc motorcycle and visual appeal and performance of a more powerful 200cc motorcycle.
The Honda Hornet 2.0 gets a peppy four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 184.4cc engine, which pumps out a maximum power output of 17.3 PS and a peak torque output of 16.1 Nm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The Honda Hornet 2.0 gets premium features like an LED headlamp, turn indicators and tail lamp, front and rear petal disc brakes, split seats and a fully digital instrument console. It is also the most affordable motorcycle in India currently to offer upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front, while at the rear, it gets an adjustable mono-shock.
