The gigantic MPV from MG has equally supportive wheels as well. Know your MG Gloster tyre replacement options.
The third car in India from MG, the Gloster has been able to replicate the success of its stablemate – the Hector, at least to an extent. The big, premium SUV promises luxurious cabin with generous room for every occupant. It is available in four variants and two seating arrangements (6 and 7). MG Gloster trims include Super (7-seater), Smart (6-seater), Sharp (6 & 7-seater), and Savvy (6 & 7-seater).
The standout aspect of the MG SUV is its massive size. The wheelbase of the vehicle is more than 100mm by the longest car in the segment – the Ford Endeavour. The front is adorned with a big chromed grille with sleeker headlamps and neatly tucked fog lamps with chrome-lined housing. The sculpted bonnet gives some muscle to the brawny car.
The side profile is simple with mild wheel arches and chrome-lined window panes. The chrome line tastefully rises towards the D pillar and appears to be an extension of the roof rails. The multi-spoke R19 alloy wheels look decent. The rear looks a bit out of place, especially the big chrome lettering ‘GLOSTER’. The faux quad exhausts do add a sporty character to its erstwhile sober styling.
Inside the cabin, the MG Gloster gets oodles of space and a lavish setup. The quality of the materials used leaves you spellbound. The elegant craftsmanship is evident in every bit of the cabin right from seats to door pads to the dash. The soft-touch plastics too enhance the regal feel.
The raised seating arrangement means you get a good view of the surrounding. The captain seats in the middle row get height and reach adjustable headrests. For convenience, there are plenty of storage spaces across the cabin for your knick-knacks.
The Gloster offers two engine choices – a 2.0-litre turbo and a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. The former delivers 163PS of max power and 375Nm of peak torque whereas the latter generates 218PS and 480Nm. Both the powertrains are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Among the two, only the 2-litre twin-turbo diesel gets a 4WD system.
Being a premium SUV, the MG Gloster is loaded to the gills with plenty of creature comfort features. It gets automatic park assist, ventilated seats, seat massage, a 12-way power-adjustable driver seat with 4 lumbar adjustments, 8-way power-adjustable co-driver seat with 4 lumbar adjustments, powered tailgate (with kick gesture), 2nd and 3rd row AC vents, rain-sensing wipers, wireless charging and many more.
