Kumho has been awarded two Good Design Awards lately for two of their passenger car products, namely Majesty 9 Solus TA91 and the ECSTA PA51. The Korean tyre producer is known for receiving several world-class top design awards and recognition in recent years, including the iF, IDEA, Red Dot and Good Design awards.
Being an upgraded version of the Majesty Solus, the Majesty 9 provides superior ride comfort as well as quietness over its predecessor. Improvisations include decoration of the sidewall with a hologram, which is designed to change its form according to the prevailing light angle. The tread of the Majesty 9 comes with an elegant and repetitive design of geometric patterns and contemporary-style curves, thus imparting a classy look to it.
The ECSTA PA51 by Kumho, on the other hand, is a robust tyre suitable for all seasons and is a blend of comfort and sport features. Its tread comes with an asymmetrical pattern that disperses water in all the four directions to ensure a greater fuel economy and an enhanced efficiency. The sidewall of the tyre bears the dynamic motor racing flag graphic. The grooves of this product are designed with differing depths that assures the rider of experiencing much lesser noise and an enriched grip.
The Good Design Award is considered the most prestigious awards hosted by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organisation. Having a history of about 62Â years, it enjoys a worldwide recognition today. The winners are allocated with the G-mark after they have undergone an evaluation of several parameters like design, usability and the innovative features introduced.
Kumho Tyre runs a total of three manufacturing units in South Korea and is the manufacturer of a full range of tyres under the Kumho and Marshal brands. The tyre company has been platinum partners of the Manchester United Football Club and was recently in the spotlight for its campaign, designed to increase youth’s road safety awareness.
