Maxxis India seems to have chalked out an aggressive strategy to establish its foothold in Indian market. The tyre manufacturer recently got on-board its first distributor in Odisha, which would help Maxxis connect with dealers across the state. This was preceded by the brand setting up a network of more than 1000 dealerships across India in last 12 months.
The new distributorship- Bharat Motors Limited (Bharat’s)- would help Maxxis set up a channel with independent repair shops, dealers and auto-part retailers across 30 districts in Odisha.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Bing-Lin Wu, Retail Sales Head, Maxxis India, said, “At Maxxis, we believe that distributors and dealers are our brand partners in growth. Odisha being the epicentre for the East India market will play a pivotal role in our journey of expansion in India. We recently achieved a milestone of on-boarding 1000 dealers across India and aim to amplify our brand presence and customer touch points further with the appointment of new distributors. This approach will help us realise our vision of becoming one of the most preferred tyre brand in India.”
Bharat's hold an extensive experience of 35 years in the field of auto industry, including managing auto ancillary dealerships. This partnership would help Maxxis expand its reach and portfolio in Eastern India.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Jay Prakash, Chairman, Bharat’s, said, “We are very excited about this partnership, Maxxis Tyres’ growth trajectory in India is quite noteworthy and we want to capitalise on this growing opportunity. We already have a robust network of around 800 dealers and are aiming to on-board 50 Maxxis dealers in the region month on month. We look forward to a longstanding and a fruitful relationship with Maxxis Tyres.”
Maxxis is one of the fastest growing tyre brands in the world and has been aggressively pushing for a larger market share in India, especially in the two-wheeler segment, where it has a target of achieving 15% market share in next 5 years.
