The scooter tyre market in India has been growing rapidly while other segments are showing signs of slowdown. Michelin has entered the scooter tyre business with the launch of City Pro tyres. The City Pro tyres will suitable for scooters and motorcycles of up to 150cc. This tyre is best suited for daily commute thanks to the robust tyre construction.

Pradeep G Thampy, Michelin Asia, Africa and Middle East Commercial Director (Tow Wheels), said, “Scooters have become increasingly popular in India and emerged as a preferred choice of commuting because of ease of riding and parking in congested areas. The convenience of push start, fuel efficiency and comfort of automatic transmission are enablers to this new trend, which has also seen more and more women adopt scooters as their choice of mobility. Michelin City Pro, a robust tyre will offer daily commuters with a comfortable in-city ride experience”

The City Pro tyre from Michelin is designed for urban use where a tyre needs to handle demanding impacts and stresses. The robustness of the tyre is the result of Michelin Overlap Technology (MOT). Three reinforced plies and layer of rubber beneath the tread makes the Michelin City Pro tyre extremely robust thus, makes them less susceptible to punctures. The tread design incorporates new tread pattern with large circumferential grooves that offers improved wet grip.

Michelin City Pro tyres are available nationally at Michelin premium dealerships, Michelin Priority Partners, the TYREPLUS network and Michelin retailers.
