Michelin, one of the leading tyre manufacturers of the world, has announced a new tyre management service. The truck division of the French tyre maker says the new comprehensive tyre management service will save operators time and money. The company has launched this service as a part of its offer for truck operators of all sizes.
The Michelin Active Assist program is a 24-hour emergency breakdown service. It also provides a follow-up report as a key component and provides expert advice to keep trucks on the road thereafter.
Under this program, Michelin is offering a toll-free number, which will help the drivers to connect with the Active Assist Service. It will then connect them with the nearest service centre or dealer who will provide the solution for their problems.
Michelin’s Commercial Director for Trucks David Issautier, said, "The day after assistance, the report is sent to the Fleet or Workshop Manager describing the details of the breakdown and the solution provided. These reports are then collated monthly to measure various indicators, such as breakdown per kilometre, incidents per state, and a location summary."
He added, "This will allow our teams to work with our customers to improve their tyre management and ultimately reduce their operating costs.”
