Michelin Launches New Pilot Sport 5 And Primacy 4+ Tyres

The new summer tyres are designed to offer superior precision, driving pleasure and safety.

The French multinational tyre manufacturer Michelin has announced two fresh new tyres for performance-oriented and everyday drivers. The new summer tyres are specially crafted for sports cars and offer an unparallel combination of performance and durability. The addition of new tyres will boost its portfolio in the European and other international markets.

Michelin Pilot Sport 5

Starting with the Pilot Sport 5, it is the successor to the popular Pilot Sport 4, which has earned critical acclaim in various markets. The 5th generation Pilot Sport tyre is designed for high-performance sedans offering excellent longevity. As per the company, it is the top summer tyre among its rivals in terms of durability.

Talking about the features, the Pilot Sport 5 comes with Dynamic Response Technology, where a hybrid Aramid belt and Nylon Ply combines to forms a belt around the structure, providing reinforcement and help in contact patch stability. As a result, the driving pleasure is enhanced. The tyre also offers optimum control derived from Dual Sport Tread Design Technology, which provides excellent grip and braking on wet and dry surfaces. The external tread with stiff blocks offers maximum dry grip, whereas the internal tread efficiently addresses the wet grip.

The deep black velvet colour makes the tyre aesthetically pleasing, and this has helped it grab the 2021 Contemporary Good Design Award honoured by the Red Dot Award. The Pilot Sport 5 will be available in the European markets in no less than 50 sizes in the range of 17-21 inches. In international markets, the tyre will be available for sale starting March 1, 2022.

Michelin Primary 4+

The tyremaker is also introducing the new Primacy 4+ summer tyre manufactured for everyday commuters, electric car drivers and families who love long excursions. The tyre is designed for sedans and SUVs with the primary intention of providing optimum safety. The tyre is unique in terms of braking capability, especially on wet surfaces. And this proficiency on moist surfaces comes from Michelin’s EverGrip Technology that ingeniously blends two rubber layers to counterbalance the lost tread depth while continuing to disperse water even when scraped.

Furthermore, the Primary 4+ is blessed with MaxTouch Construction Technology that uniformly dispenses the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking, providing extended tread life. The tyre will be available in 82 dimensions ranging from 16-19 inches sizes, starting March, and up to 121 different dimensions from 16-21 inches by the end of this year.

Launch In India

The new Michelin summer tyres fulfil the demands of everyday drivers and sports car enthusiasts, giving them high performance and ensuring longer tread life. In India, Michelin offers Pilot Sport 4 and Primacy 4 ST, so the new generation tyres are expected to be upgraded in the country, in 2022.
