Ducati Superbike Team successfully tests new Pirelli tyres at Jerez circuit

Ducati Superbike team Aruba.it Racing has successfully concluded the testing at the Jerez circuit on a positive note. The team's official rider Chaz Davies helped in the testing just after delivering fantastic performance in the race last weekend. Moreover, Ducati's test rider Luca Scassa also contributed to the testing.

The team efficiently utilised the seven hours provided for the testing and worked systematically and calmly, which is not possible during the busy race weekend. The day included testing of the new Pirelli tyres with respect to the tyres currently used in the races, electronic aids like Anti-spin and Engine Braking Control, new software updates, and front suspension setup. One of the main challenge in front of the team was to synchronize all these technologies with each other so that they can perform seamlessly with each other.

Davies completed a total of 68 lap and delivered consistent lap times that were in line with his lap times during the race weekend. However, Scassa had to sit in the garage for most of the morning session due to some technical problem but he made full use of the afternoon session and completed 51 laps in total.

The Ducati Superbike team is satisfied with the testing results and now they are preparing for the next round of Superbike Championship that is scheduled to take place at the French circuit of Magny-Cours on October 4.

After the testing, Chaz Davies said, "We had a lot to do this morning and as a result we didn’t make the best of the cooler conditions. The afternoon went well, considering the heat. We made some changes because in recent races, we’ve been losing grip on the new tyre and, so that was my priority for this test. I feel we’ve taken a step forward there and I was able to make my fastest time in the hot conditions of the afternoon which shows we’ve found some speed with the new tyre. Aside from that, we've done some electronic work and a few other small things. It’s been a useful day."
