Nexen Tire becomes official tyre supplier for Porsche Cayenne

Porsche has roped in Nexen Tire as the Original Tyre Supplier for its flagship premium SUV Porsche Cayenne. Nexen, one of the leading tyre brands, has partnered with Porsche for the first time and will have Cayenne stock fitted with Nexen N'Fera RU1 tyre in size 255/55 R18 109Y XL.

Travis Kang, CEO of Nexen Tire, said, "We are thrilled to supply original equipment tires for Porsche for the first time. As Porsche is a representative luxury car-maker with prestigious design and performance, this approval for the Porsche Cayenne proves the superior quality and advanced-technology of our products."

N'FERA RU1 is designed by Nexen to be an Ultimate High Performance tyre with great cornering capabilities and handling at high speeds. It has been awarded an 'A' grade for its wet grip along with a Noise Level-1 in the EU labeling.

Constructed using technologies like OBCS (Optimized Belt Contour System) and OCCS (Optimized Carcass Contour System) provides the tyre with the durability much needed by an SUV tyre to tackle the abuses of a harsh terrain. Use of Silica in the compound offers better grip on wet surfaces while the Fast Reverse Technology improves steering precision.

The company currently has four research facilities in Korea, China, the United States, and Germany along with three manufacturing facilities – two in Korea and one in Qingdao, China. Considering its increased popularity and demand in the market the company plans on establishing a manufacturing unit in Zatec, Czech republic.
