The plant is built on an 830,000-square-foot complex and is one of the most advanced tyre production factories in the entire industry.

Hille Korhonen, Nokian Tyres President and CEO said “The grand opening of the Dayton Factory is a key milestone in our growth journey. Our hard-working multinational team has brought our company’s vision to life through relentless teamwork, and we’re eager to celebrate their accomplishment. With the opening of this plant, the brand will produce nearly four million tyres per year if the factory reaches its limits. Moreover, if that happens, then the company will hire approximately 400 workers, which will offer a significant economic boost to the people living in the north of Chattanooga. Currently, the factory is in its initial production stage and will be set to produce tyres in early 2020.

Peter Chia, Dayton Factory Operations Director, said “We are committed to being the employer of choice in Southeast Tennessee by providing our employees with the skills, technology and support they need to succeed. Through a vibrant culture, this factory will embody our company’s ideals of entrepreneurship, inventiveness and team spirit.”

The tyremaker invented the all-weather and winter tyres, which was founded and headquartered in Finland. It continues to design and manufacture premium products for the majority of passenger segments. The brand aims to satisfy growing North American demand for all-weather tyres at the Dayton factory.
