Pirelli's Driver brand takes prime spot on Inter Milan's away jersey

Pirelli and Internazionale Milano’s partnership is strengthened further by Pirelli's Driver brand. In 2015-16 season, Pirelli's specialised dealer network's logo will appear on Inter's away jersey while the traditional logo of the tyre maker will still be placed on the home jersey. This announcement was made during the training camp at Bruneck.
Pirelli's decision to expand their sponsorship of Inter to induct its Driver brand underlines the company's strategy to relate to its end-user as closely as possible. The Driver network presently consists of around 400 Pirelli dealerships and has major presence throughout Italy. Its dealers are able to offer complete services to customers from supplying and fitting the most suitable tyres to other mechanical repairs and maintenance.
The inspiration behind the new Driver shirt are two of the most successful seasons of Inter, 1965-66 and 2009-10. The shirt's design comprises of white background with Inter's famous black and blue stripes across the chest and highlights in traditional colours on the collar and down the sides.
Guido Maestri, chief of Marketing Operations, Pirelli, explained the Driver brand won’t replace Pirelli, rather the two will "work together".
He said, “We want that to be clear: Driver will stand side by side with Pirelli. That is why the historic Pirelli logo remains on the home kit, while Driver adorns the away kit.”
Driver CEO Antonella Lauriola said, “We have grown and now we have become a point of reference for many, so we wanted to strengthen this partnership and be linked to such a prestigious club. Having our logo on the FC Internazionale shirt is a source of great pride.”
The Pirelli logo first appeared on the Inter shirt during its 1995-96 season. Adding the Driver logo has added another chapter to the history of this 20-year-old partnership.
