The first set of Dunlop branded tyres will be manufactured from Ralson’s Kot Panech facility.
Ludhiana-based tyre maker Ralson India Ltd has acquired the marketing rights of Ruia Group’s Dunlop tyres in the country.
It will utilise the brand name to produce super premium tyres under two and three-wheeler categories. Ralson India stated in the press release on Friday.
The rapidly growing tyre brand is manufacturing tyres for two-wheelers including mopeds, bikes, scooters, three-wheelers and tractors. The Ralson products are then channelled across India through its widespread dealership network of more than 2000.
In the statement released, Ralson India also underlined the objective for the tie-up by saying that it desires to further penetrate in the premium two and three-wheeler tyre category.
It said the alliance will strengthen its position in these segments in India. Although the segment is a niche, it expects it to grow at a rapid pace in the future.
Ralson India Ltd began its journey by producing bicycle tyres and tubes from Ludhiana in 1974. The emerging brand has since forayed into the manufacturing of automobile tyres.
In bicycles, the tyre maker ranks among the five most sought after tyre brands globally. In India, it is the largest producer and exporter of bicycle tubes and tyres. The strategic alliance is likely to push Ralson into the list of mainstream tyre makers for two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the country.
