TVS to launch a new performance-tyre called Extreme

One of the industry’s leading tyre manufacturer in India, TVS is gearing up to launch a new range of tyres, which will be called ‘Extreme’. The tyre is meant for performance bikes and will expand the brand’s current portfolio. It will be marketed under the company’s Protorq performance tyre brand and is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2019.

The Protorq Extreme comes with a W rating, the design which ensures that it is capable of sustaining a maximum speed of 270 kmph. These radial tyres also bring zero degrees steel belt construction, which will complement high speeds with improved stability. They are framed in a way to offer low rolling resistance that results in better fuel economy. Moreover, the rounded profile and lighter construction help to achieve good handling along with a precise and accurate ride. Last but not least, the outer surface of the tyre will have deeper grooves in the form of patterns, which will improve grip even on roads and deliver efficiency while braking on wet surfaces.

For the initial phase, the tyre will be offered in two sizes. At first, there is a Protorq Extreme XF, which will be available in a size of 110/70 ZR17 and will cost from Rs 6,000 to 7,000. On the other hand, there will be Protorq Extreme SR for the rear tyres in 150/60 ZR17 size and will be retailed from Rs 8,000 to 9,000.
