The new Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is another limited-edition version of the Taigun with a few styling add-ons. Here are the details of the tyre and styling bits added to the new Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition:

Volkswagen has launched a new limited-run Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition with cosmetic add-ons. Priced at Rs 16.30 lakh, the new Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is priced similarly to the Taigun GT on which it is based. Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition: Tyres & Wheels

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition retains the tyre option from the Taigun GT on which it is based, with 205/60 R16 Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2 tyre wrapped over 16-inch alloy wheels on offer. The Taigun is highly regarded as a fun-to-drive SUV, following Volkswagen’s legacy of offering driver-friendly cars in India. The Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2 matches that fun element of the Taigun GT, offering a greater sense of control on wet surfaces and high-speed cornering. 

For better control on braking over wet surfaces, the Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2 is made of a boosted compound formulation with additional adhesive resin. The innovative asymmetric tread pattern and cavity design of the tyre allow it to have a squarish footprint, thus improving handling and control over cornering. The Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2 also has narrow shoulder grooves and an increased number of pitches, which reduce road noises and enhance ride comfort.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition: Looks & Design

The add-ons in this limited-edition Taigun include a ‘Trail’ badge on the boot lid, blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels, red-coloured front brake callipers and body graphics on the rear fenders, door panels and C-pillars. The new Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is available in three colour options – Candy White, Carbon Steel Grey and Reflex Silver. 

The interior of the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition also gets only visual add-ons like a new black fabric upholstery with contrast red stitching and ‘Trail’ badges embossed on the headrests. The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is decently equipped with powered ORVMs, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto headlamps, reverse camera and wireless charger, retaining the equipment list of standard Taigun GT.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition: Engine & Transmission

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is being offered only with the combination of the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and the 6-speed manual transmission. Like in the standard Taigun GT, the engine here in this limited-edition Taigun also claims 150 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of maximum torque outputs.
