Yokohama has appointed Tom Kenny as its new Director of Technical Service. Tom Kenny took the position earlier managed by Dan Guiney, who had a commendable experience of 43 years in tyre industry, and was working with Yokohama for past 13 years. Guiney has had led many major leadership assignments concerning customer technical support. He represented Yokohama on the Tyre and Rim Board of Trustees and, at the same time, also served as the Chairman of Rubber Manufacturers Association's tyre policy committee.
Dan Guiney said, “I’ve truly enjoyed my time working with everyone at Yokohama, But I do look forward to a long retirement with my dear wife Kay and hope to continue to help others every day as they have helped me all through my wonderful career.”
It is clear that Kenny has some big shoes to fill but he also has vast experience in tyre industry, having worked with companies such as Continental Tyres, Cooper and Hankook Tires as VP of Research and Development. Kenny is a mechanical engineer from Ohio Northern University with an MBA degree from Bowling Green State University. He will be responsible for technical engineering and service support for all products at Yokohama.
Kenny said, “I am eager to represent Yokohama within industry organizations and will work diligently to maintain Yokohama’s stellar reputation for top-quality and safety in all of our tyres.”
Yokohama Rubber Company from Tokyo, Japan expanded to United States in 1969. The company manufactures all kinds of tyres be it for passenger cars, high performance cars, heavy commercial vehicles or off-road vehicles. In 2014, Yokohama shifted its headquarters from Fullerton, California to nearby Santa Ana to accommodate business expansion.
