Bridgestone, a major tyre manufacturer, is all set for expanding its production in India. The company has invested Rs. 350 crore in the Indore plant, located in Kheda, Madhya Pradesh. The capacity will see an increase in the production, with the plant setting a goal of producing 20,000 tyres each day by the year 2020, as stated by the company. The expansion comes at a time when there is a rise in the demand for Bridgestone tyres in the country. The company will use this plant to manufacture its radial tyre range for the passenger car market.
The Indore plant is spread across an area of 76 acres. Managing Director of Industrial Development Corporation Ltd., Vivek Porwal, has inaugurated the plant.
