Mercedes-AMG would be choosing Advan Sport V105 high performance tyres in 19” and 20” sizes. Apart from Mercedes, these tyres are officially used on BMW X5 M Performance and BMW X3.
Mercedes-AMG has selected Yokohama as the official tyre provider for its E-53+ 4MATIC series cars. E-53+ series includes sedan, station wagon, coupe and cabriolet. All these cars would be shod with Yokohama Advan Sport V105 high performance tyres.
Mercedes-AMG has decided to use homologated Advan Sport V105 tyres in 19 inch and 20 inch sizes. AMG had launched E-53 series globally in the summer last year, while Japan saw the series being launched in September 2018.
The tyres being used on E-53+ have been designed by Yokohama in close collaboration with Mercedes-AMG. This is why all the tyres would be homologated with “MO” - Mercedes’ mark of approval. AMG will be sourcing two sets of Advan Sport V105 tyres.
The 19’ tyres would be provided in 245/40Z/R19 for front and 275/35Z/R19 for rear while the 20 inchers would be provided in 245/35Z/R20 for front and 275/30Z/R20 at the rear.
Yokohama Advan Sport V105 is a high performance tyre designed to compliment the performance of high powered vehicles, including the BMW X5 M Performance and BMW X3. Key features of Advan Sport V105 include:
- Ultra high traction tread compound for exceptional wet and dry grip
- Groove in groove technology for a very quiet and comfortable ride quality
- Straight channels and sipes for superior wet grip and performance
- Strong shoulder blocks for superior cornering capabilities
- Matrix rayon belt for improved resistance to damages
Mercedes-AMG E-53 series vehicles are powered by a 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine that churns out around around 429 horses. This engine has been paired to a 48 volt electrical motor for a punchy torque all through the rev range. To put all this power on the tarmac you’d see Yokohama Advan Sport V105 tyres and AMG Performance division’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
