After getting tremendous support from the buyers, India’s first internet car MG Hector launched as a hybrid SUV with 50+ connected features. It comes with 19 exclusive specialities that make it the new benchmark in its segment. As per the report, MG has upgraded the tyres to Continental Max Contact MC5 from the stock Goodyear Assurance tyres for the top variant of MG Hector.
This step was taken by the brand to provide a more enjoyable driving experience to the consumers. The Continental Max Contact MC5 is appreciated to present better road grip and also produces less noise, as compared to the Goodyear Assurance. Even though Continental tyres are more expensive than the Goodyear tyres, the carmaker will not be charging extra, and the price of MG Hector Sharp variant remains unchanged, which makes it even more value for money. However, this is only valid for those who are yet to receive the delivery. Those who already received the shipment of Hector with Goodyear tyres will not be qualified for Continental tyres.
To satisfy the demand, MG India plans to expand production capacity for Hector. The production will be increased at its Halol manufacturing facility to 3,000 units per month by this year. The brand has pledged to deliver all the SUVs booked until now, by the end of 2019.
MG Hector Sharp and Smart top variants have been most in demand. A seller in Kerala recently delivered 30 Hector in a single day.
Bookings of Hector are assumed to re-open soon. However, they will only receive orders for 2020 delivery. MG India is likely to launch an all-electric SUV – eZS. The same has been announced by the carmaker, in a latest promotional video. MG eZS is expected to launch by Dec 2019.
