Origin and Expansion

Founded in 1958, CEAT is one of India’s leading tyre brands and the flagship company of the RPG GROUP. It is headquartered in Mumbai and has a strong presence in global markets.
CEAT produces over 35 million tyres a year and offers the widest range of tyres to all segments and manufactures world-class radials for: heavy-duty trucks and buses, light commercial vehicles, earthmovers, forklifts, tractors, trailers,cars, bikes, and scooters. The company has capacity to produce 140,000+ tyres per day and its annual revenue stands at Rs 6,700+ Crore.

In 1993 the company entered into a collaboration agreement with Yokohama Rubber Company of Japan for the manufacture of Tyres at Nashik plant. In the year 1996 the company launched a new radial car tyre 'Maestro' the first radial tyre in India to use state-of-the-art polyester tyre cord technology combined with steel belts. 

The tyre maker product range also covers world-class radials for two-wheelers and cars. Its customers list includes two-wheeler brands like Hero, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Royal Enfield. It is also associated with renowned car manufacturers like Maruti, Tata, Mahindra, Kia, and Hyundai. 

The tyre maker's latest offering includes two new range of motorcycle tyres, Tubeless Gripp XL and Zoom X3 series. The Gripp XL tubeless tyres have been exclusively launched for all Royal Enfield bikes. 

The Zoom X3 and Zoom X3 F Tubeless range of tyres have been designed keeping in mind the Superior control at high speeds. The new series of tyres cater to bikes above 150+ cc like the Pulsar 220/180/160, Avenger, Apache, among others. 

Recently, CEAT also launched a new range of puncture safe tyres for motorcycles. It is designed to prevent the tyre from deflating at the point of puncture. This new range of tubeless tyres is currently available in Kerala, Bangalore, Mysore & parts of Karnataka as well as Coimbatore & Salem in Tamil Nadu.

The brand’s products are exported to more than 130 countries, especially in the truck, OTR and LCV categories.

Achievements

This company has been successful in making a mark of its own in the global tyre market. It has received a number of awards from the time of its commencement. Some of its achievements include:

Association With Cricket

CEAT Tyres has always been associated with cricket. It all started with CEAT Cricket Rating Awards and has gone stronger with Strategic Time out Sponsorship in IPL and has entered into endorsement deals with famous cricketers like Harmanpreet Kaur, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal, etc.

CEAT Cricket Rating

CEAT established a system that recognised and rewarded exceptional performances. Three legends of the game, Clive Lloyd, Ian Chappell and Sunil Gavaskar put their heads together to help the idea come to fruition. Thus, in the year 1997, the CEAT International Cricket Rating System was born.

CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) was the first of its kind in the cricketing world and the first ever recipient of the International Cricketer of the Year was none other than Brian Lara.

Over time, and with the development of game's 'slambang' version, better known as Twenty20, CCR has devised a new and advanced system, CEAT T20 Rating. The system befittingly takes into account more contemporary parameters such as the batsman's strike rate and a bowler's economy rate.
