- Q.Tyre got a cut close to the Alloy wheel rim when the car ran through a ditch in highway. Also had a puncture on another tyre the very next day. Model: Tigor XZA+, Bridgestone 250 175/60/R15. The tyre mechanic mentioned that this model has low availability and should switch to a 175/65/R15 dimension. Is that a right decision? Also given the experiences I had with the Bridgestone 250, I started to feel they are of inferior quality. Is that correct?A.
If you are looking for tyre change you can opt for the suggested 175/65 R15 tyre size as it will increase the ground clearance by a slight margin. However, due to upsize the mileage may hamper negligibly. Moreover, coming to Bridgestone brand, its tyres are made keeping in Indian conditions and are tested extensively for maximum performance. And for Tata Tiago and Tigor they have been stock tyres with excellent performance without any such complaints. Therefore, in general, they never come across such instances. On the other hand, frequent injuries also indicate towards wearing out of tyres, hence, you need to check the tyre wear. Be rest assured about the Bridgestone in terms of quality as they one of the leading premium tyre make in the country. In case, if you still want to check other brand tyres you can switch to Michelin Energy XM2/XM2 Plus.Answered 30-Nov-2021 13:14:50
