Vredestein Bike Tyres

Vredestein is a Netherland-based tyre manufacturer established in 1909, and one of the oldest in the field. The tyre maker produces and sells tyres in multiple countries, including India, where it was acquired by Apollo Tyres in 2009, and since then, called Apollo Vredestein. In 2013, Apollo also established a global R&D centre of Vredestein in the Netherlands. The brand manufactures tyres for passenger cars, two-wheelers and bicycles. The tyres are being locally produced in Apollo’s plant located in Vadodara.

Presently, the tyre maker provides two premium racing tyres for the Indian market namely; Centauro ST and Centauro NS. Where Centauro ST is a sport touring tyre, the Centauro, on the other hand, is designed for road sports. The tyres are rated as equivalent to some of the Pirelli tyres in terms of performance.

The centre brand of these tyres is specially designed for enhanced durability, while the side profile features an extra grip compound. Bikes such as Suzuki GSX-R1000, Yamaha R1, Kawasaki Ninja 1000, and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 can be fitted with Centauro ST tyres, while the NS version is tailor-made for motorcycles such as Benelli TNT 300, Kawasaki Versys, Ducati Monster, Hyosung GT 650.

Though Vredestein has a global presence, in India, it is still relatively an unknown brand. However, backed by Apollo’s huge distribution network, it would steadily make its way into the mainstream market. The parent company has over 5000 dealerships in the country, including more than 2,500 exclusive outlets.
