Royal Enfield Updates Its 650 Twins With New Tubeless Alloy Wheels

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have recently received the much-needed upgrade that will make both bikes more popular. Below are the tyre and wheel details of these duos.
- The Royal Enfield has updated its 650 twins with a host of features.
- The Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 now get new 100/90-18 and 130/70-18 sized tyres at the front and the rear, wrapped in 18-inch tubeless alloys.
- The alloy wheels are available with only two variants.

Royal Enfield knows well how to make an impact and boost the popularity of its products. With a bunch of new updates, the brand is now trying to increase its fanbase. The popular Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 now get a slew of updates.
The most significant update on the fresh versions is the alloy wheels with tubeless tyres making it more attractive and suitable, as compared to its tube spoke wheels. Other than tyres, minor tweaks were seen on the body style as well.
In terms of styling and features, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 come equipped with an all-LED headlight, and retro-styled aluminium switch cubes sourced from Super Meteor. Its top versions also get features like rotary switches and USB charging at the left handlebar.

Tyres and Wheels
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 now comes wrapped with a tyre size of 100/90-18 at the front and 130/70-18 at the rear. This was the most sought-after update for these bikes. However, alloys are available with only two variants namely Barcelona Blue and Black Ray in Interceptor and Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey in Continental.
The addition of 18-inch alloy wheels not only enhances the appeal of these motorcycles but also adds to the stability. Where the Interceptor continues with the same CEAT ZOOM CRUZ stock tyre, the Continental GT 650 will now roll on new Vredestein Centauro ST tyres. Both these tyres are crafted for performance cruiser bikes offering superior grip and handling.
Engine and Specifications
In terms of specifications, Royal Enfield 650 twins remain unchanged with the same 648cc air and oil-cooled motor that makes the power output of 47PS and peak torque of 52Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch assist. The RE twins come with a double-cradle tubular steel frame suspended on a 41mm front fork and adjustable twin shocks at the rear.
In terms of braking, the bike gets 320mm front and 240mm rear discs along with dual channel ABS assist.
