Vredestein B.V, presently known as Apollo Vredestein B.V. is a tyre making company that was founded in 1909 in Netherlands. This is a division of Apollo Tyres limited from India. It is named after the farm Schiff that was bought in Looosduinen where, its founder started producing rubber. At present, its manufacturing units are present in India, and Netherlands. Meanwhile, it is also planning to set up another plant in Hungary. This firm brings its products in the market under the names Apollo, and Vredestein. Besides these, an extensive network of offices carry out its operations in more than 125 countries throughout the world. Interestingly, the renowned Italian automobile designer Giugiaro, has designed most of the car tyres produced by this brand. 
 

History: 
 

Vredestein has a history of over 100 years and today, it carries the premium brand status in this particular industry. Started as a rubber production unit, it then stepped into the automotive industry and now, produces tyres for all kinds of vehicles and bicycles. The bicycle tyre factory in Doetinchem was set up in 1934 and later in 1946, its plant was built in Enschede. In 1962, it amalgamated with N.V. Rubberfabriken Hevea and in nearly ten years, the firm has managed to supply its products in more than 125 countries. During 1970s, several companies merged with tyre industries because of oil crisis and this paved way for the company's rapid growth. Apollo Tyres Limited from India acquired this firm in 2009 and changed its name to Apollo Vredestein B.V.
