    Q.
    How to maintain a tyre
    A.

Tyre maintenance begins with periodic check and driving style. Always maintain optimal tyre pressure as suggested by the vehicle maker, check tyres occasionally for wear, inspect tyre for cracks, cuts and bulge, if any, especially at the tyre sidewall, refrain from abrupt acceleration and sudden braking (this takes away tyre life), never overload the vehicle with excess baggage/passengers, and ensure periodic tyre rotation of tyres.

    Q.
Can we upsize Chevrolet Spark tyres to 155/80 R13? What would be the pros and cons?
    A.

Opting for larger tyre size hampers the fuel economy and performance of the car. This is the reason, car makers do not recommend tyre upsize. Hence, it is best to continue with company fitted tyre size for safe driving and balanced performance everytime.

For nissan kids 2020 model 205/55 R17 ,91V which tires good kumho or ceat
    A.

Kumho is not an established tyre brand in India, and may have after sales service issues. Hence, it is best to opt for a reliable tyre brand with vast service network. Here, you can choose CEAT, or any other tyre brand like MRF, Apollo or Bridgestone.

    Q.
Ideal kms to be run before tyre change
    A.

There is no set period or number of kilometres for tyre change. As the tyre wear happens as per ones driving pattern. If the tyre in the vehicle is driven rashly, mostly on rough surfaces, suffers frequent braking and abrupt acceleration, it may wear rapidly. On the other side, if the tyre is driven majorly on smooth tarmac, constant speed, controlled braking then the tyre produces longer life. To check whether it’s time to change tyres you can look closely for Tyre Wear Indicators (TWI), it is a marking that indicates tyre wear. If it has faded away, then it’s time to immediately change tyres.

    Q.
I have vitarabrezza stepin tyre not even used once for the last 7year,can I use it as a regular tyre.
    A.

The spare tyre or stepney tyre is meant for spare use, i.e. during emergency situations like tyre burst/puncture, etc., and that too for a very limited number of kilometres. Hence it cannot be used a regular tyre. Further, the life cycle of a vehicle tyre under Indian weather conditions, irrespective of usage, is between 5 years to 8 years at the max. Hence, for safe driving always opt for regular tyre for daily driving and not the spare one.
