COVID-19 Crisis: Bridgestone India Donates 10,000 PPE Kits To Hospitals

To support the country’s fight against COVID-19, tyre manufacturer Bridgestone India on Thursday announced that it has donated over 10,000 Personal Protective Kits Equipment kit (PPE) to hospital in rural and urban areas in Pune, Indore and Dhar. It has also provided meals to the migrant workers and lifesaving kits to truckers.

The tyre maker has collaborated with Rotary Club of Pune and Samaan Social Development Society, Indore for this cause. Bridgestone said that these measures will be taken in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand, covering major cities such as Pune, Dhar, Nanded, Mumbai, Indore, Ranchi, and Aurangabad.

Commenting on this initiative, Parag Satpute Managing Director, Bridgestone India, said, "Providing Personal Protective Equipment for medical and paramedical staff is the dire need of the hour."

He also said, "Also, migrant workers and stranded truckers in various parts of the country are in need of urgent attention. Providing life-saving kits to these communities can ensure their safety. We are trying to reach the people through various efforts and it is our way to serve."

Recently, JK Tyre and Industries also extended its support by providing food supplies to over 10,000 daily earners and migrants. It also organised health camps in 25 villages in the vicinity of its manufacturing facilities across India.

The company also distributed more than 20,000 hand sanitizers and masks and created awareness about safety precautions in more than 150 villages across the country.
