World's fastest tyre change took less than a minute!

If you have ever been faced with the task of changing a flat tyre on a vehicle, there’s no point reminding that it requires a lot of effort and time. You also need to have some basic skills like knowing how to use a lug wrench or lift-up the vehicle using a jack etc. However, even if you’re a seasoned champ and have a knack for changing tyres every now and then, what would be the quickest time it will take you to replace a wheel? 15 minutes? Or may be 10? No matter how fast you are, it just can’t be under a minute!

Unless, of course, you are a team of mechanics that is sponsored by a German car parts supplier Kfzteile24. In that case, nobody will doubt you. Why, you ask. It's because they have smashed the Guinness World Record for fastest wheel change by swapping all four wheels of a Ford Focus hatchback in less than a minute. To be precise, the team took just 59.62 seconds to perform the full change using just hand tools - yes, the very same ones all motorists use across the world.

To give you a bit of perspective, the previous fastest time for wheel change was more than 23 seconds slower at 1:23.85.

Post the successful completion of the task, Guinness World Records Adjudicator Eva Norroy said, “Congratulations to the team for the successful record attempt. It was a great performance, which shows, that everything is possible with good training and a strong willingness.”
