The 2020 Skoda Rapid gets a new BS-VI – compliant 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine along with a new 16-inch alloy wheels

Skoda has launched the BS-VI 2020 Rapid with a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh and going up to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). Since its launch, Rapid has managed to create a buzz in the market because of its low starting price. Like its predecessor, the BS6 Rapid 1.0 TSI is available in five variants – Rider, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo.

The Czech based automaker has made some changes in the new Rapid. It gets a new BS-VI – compliant 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which makes 110hp and 175Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

In terms of styling, there are no major cosmetic changes made to the car. The most prominent changes are the new 16-inch alloy wheels and a boot lip spoiler. Skoda Rapid has been in the Indian market since 2011 and has managed to attract buyers with its enticing new design. The 2020 Skoda Rapid gets five variants Rider, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. There are two different tyre sizes and wheels available for these variants. The 1.0 TSI Rider and 1.0 TSI Ambition comes fitted with 185/60 R15 tyre size. Both the variants get steel and alloy wheels respectively.

The 1.0 TSI Onyx, 1.0 TSI Style and the 1.0 TSI Monte Carlo wears 195/55 R16 tyre size along with the new 16-inch alloy wheels. Tubeless radial tyres come standard on all the variants.
