JK Tyre aims at producing 20 million units by 2015 end

One of the biggest tyre manufactures in the world, JK tyres aims at producing 20 million units by 2015 end. The research and development centres of the company are wholly attentive towards adding more value for money products to its portfolio using new technology standards. In order to increase the overall yearly production of tyres, JK tyres is expanding the production capacities with the target of producing 20 million units by 2015 end.

The Indian tyre giant inaugurated a JK Tyre Truck Wheels Centre at NH-8, Rewari, Haryana last year. The showroom is named as Jalan Transolutions India and is the 15th truck wheel showroom. Also, it is the first of its kind in the National Capital Region (NCR). It is spread over a large area of 25000 square feet and is situarted on the National Highway. The facility offers complete truck and bus care with all kind of advanced machines and equipment such as greasing pumps, air compressors, pneumatic wrenches, nitrogen inflator machine and a generator set. According to Vikram Malhotra, Marketing Director, JK Tyre and Industries, Rewari-Dharuhera has its own importance for the trucking business and the region is quickly being radialised, and the centre is expected to be a huge success.

The tyre maker took an initiative with the JK Tyre Formula Design Challenge that witnessed a huge participation from several colleges across the country. 36 teams were shortlisted from various engineering colleges who competed in their prototype racing cars for tech dominance at Kari Motor Speedway near Coimbatore, between 20- 25 January, 2015. Mumbai’s KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, NIT Calicut, Manipal University and COEP Pune were among the winners in various events.
