Maruti Suzuki has just announced a voluntary recall for a few thousand units of Eeco in India. The recall is issued for 19,731 units of the Maruti Suzuki Eeco produced between 19th July 2021 to 5th October 2021. The primary purpose of this recall is to inspect and rectify incorrect marking of wheel rim size in the affected units if any.
Some of the vehicles produced in this batch are expected to be affected by this minor mistake. Maruti Suzuki claims that this minor production error has no major impact on the performance and safety of the vehicle.
As per the recall, the customers of the Eeco produced in the duration mentioned above have to visit the nearby authorized workshop of Maruti Suzuki, where the wheel rim size of their vehicles will be inspected and rectified without any additional charge.
The affected vehicle owners will be receiving an official confirmation call or e-mail from Maruti Suzuki. However, the customers themselves can visit the ‘important customer info’ tab on the authorized website of Maruti Suzuki to check if their Eeco is impacted by the recall or not.
On the website, customers can fill in their vehicle chassis number to see if their vehicle falls under this routine check or not. Apart from the original bill and registration certificate, customers can know about the chassis number embossed on the vehicle identification plate.
