Michelin has announced the launch of new 10.00 R20 Michelin X Multi tube-type radial tyres in India. Following the government's Make in India campaign, these tube-type radial tyres for commercial vehicles will be manufactured in India. These tyres are also specially engineered for Indian road and load conditions.
Mohan Kumar, Commercial Director of Michelin India said, "After the successful introduction of the TubelessX Multi range earlier in 2015, we are delighted to bring the Michelin X Multi tube-type range to our Indian customers."
He added, "We are confident that this tyre range will offer international standards of versatility, safety and optimised operating cost efficiency to fleet owners that transport goods across the country."
The new tyre range features a new tread rubber compound that offers low rolling resistance that translates to lower fuel consumption. Tread depth has been increased by 1mm for better grip on wet roads and increased tyre mileage. To increase the retreadablity of the tyres, there is an additional crown ply and the bead has been reinforced.
Pricing of the new Michelin 10.00 R20 X Multi tube-type tyres starts at Rs 20,000, plus taxes. The tyres will be available at all authorised Michelin dealers throughout the country. The 10.00 R20 Michelin X Multi D (drive axle) is already available at dealerships. However, the 10.00 R20 Michelin X Multi Z (steer axle) will be available from April 2016 onwards.
