French tyre manufacturer, Michelin has inaugurated a regional HQ at Dubai Airport Freezone Authority to handle its India, Africa and the Middle East operations. The director-general of DAFZA Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, the president for Michelin, Africa, India and the Middle East, Marc Pasquet and the Consul General of France, Raja Rabia were present at the official opening ceremony, which took place in Dubai. According to the company’s statement, the new department will be handling 87 offices across the regions. This move will permit the global tyre giant to improve further and expand its regional actions.

“DAFZA remains committed to boosting the growth of key sectors that continuously drive Dubai's economy and diversification efforts. With DAFZA’s strategic location, a wide range of services, and unique offering, we are keen to continue to be at the forefront of attracting multi-national companies and foreign businesses such as Michelin into Dubai, supporting them to help achieve growth and success,” said Al Zarooni.

Confirming the statement, Pasquet said that the company is looking forward to starting its services within DAFZA as it is a free zone, which will help the company in offering excellent services for its business. In addition to that, he also stated: “We are confident that this move will support us in expanding and boosting our business by strengthening our presence in the region.”

After having a headquarter located in Clermont, France, the tyre maker has proved itself as an international tyre firm with foundations in over 170 countries. Moreover, Michelin has been operating for more than 70 years in the Middle East. The brand’s decision of building a headquarter in Dubai Airport Freezone Authority is a smart move as it houses more than 1,600 regional and international organisations, and it will also be a unique and wide range of offerings.
