Audi RS5 Coupe´to come shod with Hankook Ventus S1 evo² UHP tyres

" With its 2.9L Twin Turbo, V6 engine, the new Audi RS5 Coupe´ churns out a massive 444 BHP. And to deliver that power on to the tarmac, the German luxury car maker has gone with Hankook Ventus S1 evo² Ultra High Performance tyres."

Audi has announced that its all new high performance vehicle, Audi RS5 Coupe´, would come shod with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo² tyres.

The UHP tyres would be available in 265/35 R 19 98 Y XL for the standard Audi RS5 and the optional variant would run on 275/30 R 20 97Y XL.

This strengthens Hankook's partnership with Audi since it last became the Original Equipment supplier for Audi Sport TT RS in 2016.

Since RS5 strikes a balance between performance and comfort, Hankook had a challenging task of creating tyres which could not only do justice to the massive power surge but also offer a quiet and comfortable ride quality.

The Korean tyre maker took this challenge head-on and upped its game. The company has made use of a special styrene-polymer-silica based tread compound which offers exceptional wet performance and enhanced tread life. The tread pattern has also been optimized to offer superior traction and responsive braking for enhanced high speed safety.

Hankook and Audi rigorously tested these tyres over the Nordschleife stretch of the Nurburgring track in Germany. The Ventus S1 evo² performed incredibly, displaying a wearing rate comparable to standard passenger tyres, thereby ensuring a long tread life.

Hankook has also incorporated a new 'Sound Absorber' technology on the tyres to ensure a pleasant and quiet ride quality. This technology has been tried and tested on the outgoing Audi Q7 and Audi SQ7.

Audi RS5 Coupe´-Quick….Very Quick !

This new improved Audi reaches from 0-100 kmph in a staggering 3.9 secs. That's very quick for a 1600 kgs, 4 seater coupe´. What lets it down, however, are the handling dynamics. The vehicle doesn't feel as invigorating as its counterparts and the steering seems to lose its precision at high speeds. But, nonetheless, this is a very able car, and be it throwing it around the corners or hauling your family on the highways, either ways, you would love this Audi.

Doubles up as a family vehicle

RS5 has been designed by Audi to be high on performance whilst being extremely practical for long drives with the family. The rear seats offer supreme comfort with ample leg room and head room. The door bins are big enough to house large water bottles and the infotainment system takes care of the family entertainment on the go.

What elevates Audi RS5's utility is the large boot with 465 ltrs of space and a fairly wide loading bin. The user can also fold the rear seats in 60:40 ratio for more loading room.

All in all, Audi RS5 is a great car, which is fast to drive, yet easy to handle.
